Look for an avocado’s skin to turn from green to dark green almost black. Also, check the firmness of an avocado by pressing against it firmly with your pointer finger. Ideally you want to be able to easily indent the avocado. If it’s hard it’s not ripe yet, and if its super soft, it may be past it’s prime.
